Madi is a versatile, contemporary guitarist based in Brisbane currently attending the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (QCGU) completing an Honours year after graduating from a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar (Performance) in 2015. After learning multiple instruments (piano, cello, voice and guitar) from the age of 5, Madi now pursues her passion for music education as a guitar teacher at both Brisbane Music Studio and her private studio at Bulimba.
Madi performs regularly as a solo acoustic act and also in a six-piece rock, folk, psychedelic band, Golden Age of Ballooning. Over the past year Madi has performed at Brisbane venues such as The Triffid, The Zoo, Black Bear Lodge, Roma St Parklands, Queen Street Mall and The Foundry. At the conclusion of her Bachelor, Madi plans to undertake further postgraduate studies at the QCGU to further her knowledge in pedagogy practices specific to guitar and early music education.
During her years at the Conservatorium, Madi has primarily practiced her craft with jazz guitarist and composer, Toby Wren, and also studied for a short time under world acclaimed British classical guitarist, Julian Byzantine.
